German police authorities after they allegedly blackmailed and tried to extort Formula One legend Michael Schumacher's family by claiming that they had some secret files on the F1 driver from his prime, which could expose him and tarnish his reputation, once the files are placed on the dark web, says The Sun's report.
The suspects were caught and taken into custody on June 19 and the interrogation is currently in progress. Apparently, family employees who were close to wife Corinna Schumacher were approached by the father-son pair who claimed to expose the F1 driver and his 'secrets'.
According to reports, the perpetrators claim that the family would not want these documents being leaked in public as it could be catastrophic for their reputation. In order to keep this information private, they demanded millions of dollars in exchange for maintaining secrecy. Whether the family partly gave in to the extortion is not known, but it is good news that the police have nabbed the suspects pertaining to this case.
