Manning joined the regulator as a manager of primary markets policy in 2018, before moving to a technical specialist roles in sustainable finance and stewardship in 2019. He assumed his current position, strategic policy advisor on sustainable finance, at the start of this year.
In a LinkedIn post, he said he would be launching a consultancy called New Paradigm Advisory, which aims to help «regulators, policymakers, standard-setters, NGOs and academics deliver the fundamental transformation of business and finance that we urgently need to secure a sustainable future».

Despite leaving the regulator, Manning said he still planned to continue to work with the FCA in an advisory capacity.
«I look forward to remaining actively engaged with key FCA change initiatives that I have worked on in my current role, such as the Transition Plan Taskforce,» he added.
In addition, he said he would be working with the IFRS Foundation to support global adoption of sustainability-related reporting standards issued by the International Sustainability Standards Board, as well as Chapter Zero «to help embed a sustainability mindset in corporate boardrooms».

The FCA declined to comment.
