Phil Cliff has joined as director of sustainable investing and will focus on climate integration. He will work to enhance Fidelity's climate strategy and transition plan, propelling the firm's commitment to halve emissions across its investment portfolios by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050.
He will also ensure the firm's reporting strategy is aligned with integrating climate considerations in its investment process.
Cliff was previously head of climate at M&G Investments, where he led the climate strategy and transition plan, including the creation of the firm's net zero investment framework, portfolio analytics tool, scenario modelling and climate reporting.

Prior to joining M&G, he worked as a founder and portfolio manager at Occam Asset Management, fund manager at Threadneedle Asset Management and analyst at Skandia Life.
Additionally, Aaron Hay has joined as director of sustainable investing, responsible for ESG integration within Fidelity's private credit strategies.
He will lead the development and execution of the sustainable investing strategy for the firm's private credit unit, as well as spearheading the stewardship and engagement activities for the firm's private credit holdings.
Hay has joined from Federated Hermes, where he oversaw investee stewardship, the implementation of the firm's sustainable and impact investment strategy and co-managing a growing sustainable fixed income team.
