Finally! Shakira to release first album in seven years
Shakira is set to drop her first album in seven years, titled "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran" (Women Don’t Cry Anymore), on March 22. This highly anticipated release also marks Shakira's debut on vinyl, offering fans four distinct artwork editions, each accompanied by an exclusive colored vinyl variant.
Reflecting on her creative journey, Shakira shared, «Making this body of work has been an alchemical process. While writing each song, I was rebuilding myself. While singing them, my tears transformed into diamonds, and my vulnerability into strength.»
The album's title pays homage to the empowering lyrics from her Bizarrap session "Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53," where she proclaimed, «las mujeres ya no lloran, las mujeres facturan,» loosely translating to «women don’t cry anymore, they make money.»
Speculation about a new album sparked when Shakira teased fans with a short video on Sunday, featuring a diamond motif followed by clips from her previously released singles, including «Copa Vacía» with Manuel Turizo, her Bizarrap-produced music session, and «Monotonía.»
«Stay tuned,» she urged her massive Instagram following of over 90 million.
Shakira's upcoming album follows her 2017 release «El Dorado,» which dominated the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart for five weeks and featured chart-toppers like «Chantaje» with Maluma, «La Bicicleta» with Carlos Vives, and «Deja vu» featuring Prince Royce.
