Now, services like Fastag and DTH recharge, landline, broadband bill payments and mobile phone bill payments will be available on the ecommerce platform, the company said on Wednesday.
These are in addition to the first lot of payment services that went live on Flipkart like prepaid mobile phone recharge and electricity bill payments.
In FY24, Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) processed approximately 1.3 billion transactions and this is expected to grow to over 3 billion by 2026, the Walmart-owned company said in a statement.
With more than 20 billing categories and over 21,000 billers active in the BBPS ecosystem, more than 70% of bill payments are now conducted electronically, it added.
“We have diversified our selection of services in line with Flipkart’s vision to simplify the digital payments journey for customers and further the government’s vision of a cashless economy.
