Elkington became an Alvarium director in 2009 and was a founding director of Alvarium Home REIT Advisors, Home REIT's former investment adviser.
Investment Week understands Elkington left the business in June 2023, six months after the completion of the merger between Alvarium Investments and US-based multi-family office Tiedemann Group.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he was responsible for coordinating and overseeing AlTi Global's private real estate platform and was a member of the executive board of the global real estate investment committee.

Elkington became an Alvarium director in 2009 and was a founding director of Alvarium Home REIT Advisors, an Alvarium spin-out, which had been Home REIT's investment adviser since its launch in October 2020.
Prior to the listing of the combined Alvarium and Tiedemann businesses on the Nasdaq in January 2023, Alvarium agreed to sell AHRA to a newly formed entity owned by AHRA management in a move to distance itself from the troubled investment trust.
However, the deal included a call option that enabled AlTi Global to repurchase AHRA on the repayment of a promissory note, although the deadline for this passed on 31 December 2023.
Despite the sale agreement, AHRA was consolidated by AlTi Global following its legal disposal to the new company due to its nature as a subsidiary, resulting in an intangible asset on the firm's accounts.
On 30 June 2023, a series of agreements saw AHRA deconsolidated from the asset management segment of AlTi Global with immediate effect, terminating any residual contracts between the firm and AHRA.
