Full emergency declared at Trivandrum airport after Air India flight from Mumbai receives bomb threat
The flight was put in isolation bay while the passengers are being evacuated, reported agency further.
There were 135 passengers onboard, sources told PTI, adding details on the origin of the threat and other information are awaited.
Recently, a Vistara Flight UK-966, set to depart from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 8.15pm on Wednesday, faced a major delay due to a hoax hijack threat. The airline received an alarming email shortly before departure, prompting immediate security measures.
The bomb scare comes few months after nearly 41 airports in the country received bomb threat emails on Tuesday and each of them was declared a hoax following anti-sabotage checks by security agencies that lasted for hours.
Bomb threats to hospitals, malls:
At least 100 hospitals and shopping malls across Delhi-NCR on Tuesday received bomb threat emails. Police personnel, bomb detection teams and dog squads were pressed into service and launched searches at the locations.
AIIMS and Safdarjung Hospital in Ansari Nagar, Fortis Hospital in Vasant Kunj, Max Hospital in Saket, Primus Hospital in Chanakyapuri, Apollo Hospital in Sarita Vihar, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Rajender Nagar and Manipal Hospital in Dwarka are some of who receieved bomb threats.
The threats were also sent to prominent shopping centres, including Chanakya Mall in Chanakyapuri, Select CityWalk and DLF Mall in Saket, Pacific Mall in Tagore Garden, North India Mall in Indirapuram and Ambience Mall and Cinepolis in Gurgaon, prompting
