Mad Max franchise's fifth film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, is yet another post-apocalypse-based content designed by the creators George Miller and Byron Kennedy and will see a release in May this year. The first film in the Mad Max franchise began back in the year 1979 and saw three further films that include The Road Warrior, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, and Mad Max: Fury Road. Interestingly, Mad Max: Fury Road, also grabbed an Oscar after its blockbuster release, loved by fans of the franchise.
The storyline of Mad Max revolves around the antics of Max Rockatansky, a police officer in Australia, set in an apocalyptic future, where resource shortages and conflicts among citizens have erupted. The upcoming film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, will be a prequel spin-off to Mad Max: Fury Road, according to a Collider report.

Mad Max films have been a pioneer in the post-apocalyptic fiction genre in Hollywood and have also been a torchbearer of pop culture.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga will see an exclusive release in theatres, similar to the case with the previous films in this franchise. The film also sees a release in IMAX.
According to recent reports about the film, it is slated to be released on May 24 this year. It was initially scheduled to be released on June 23, 2023, but was postponed 11 months to the current date.
