G20 Summit, the Noida traffic department has decided to control the movement of heavy vehicles from Noida to Delhi. As per a TOI report, Between September 7 and 10, these vehicles will be rerouted via the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, according to DCP (traffic) Anil Kumar Yadav.
The Delhi traffic department has already issued an advisory aimed at restricting the entry of heavy, medium, and light goods vehicles into the capital during the international summit.
Only vehicles carrying essential commodities, such as milk, vegetables, fruits, and medical supplies, and possessing valid 'no entry permissions,' will be permitted entry into Delhi.
DCP Yadav stated, «We will hold a meeting with our Delhi counterpart on Friday and announce further measures for restricting traffic movement from Noida to the capital.»
On a daily basis, numerous goods carriers utilize the three primary routes — DND Flyway, Kalindi Kunj, and Chilla regulator — that connect Noida to Delhi. Police officials have indicated that drivers will be directed to make a U-turn towards the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) to continue their journey.
The G20 Summit will bring together foreign delegates from several countries, including the US, UK, Russia, China, Canada, Germany, and Japan, who will be visiting and residing in the capital for the summit meetings set to be held at Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan.
As per an advisory issued by the Delhi Police, all establishments, including offices, restaurants, malls, and markets, will remain closed in New Delhi from September 8.
