‘Gadar 2’ continues winning streak, Sunny Deol film crosses Rs 419 cr at Indian box-office
Gadar 2’ is here to stay and rule the Indian box-office single-handedly.
As per a report shared by the Indian box-office tracking portalSacnilk.com, the movie is going strong at the box-office. The Sunny Deol-Ameesha Patel starrer collected about Rs 418 crore on Friday (August 25). It is expected to earn Rs 6 crore on Saturday. If it can do so, the movie would cross Rs 425 crores.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the box-office collections of the movie. “ALL-TIME BLOCKBUSTER… #Gadar2 WREAKS HAVOC in Week 2… Mass pockets on continue to set NEW BENCHMARKS… Will continue to dominate the heartland in Week 3 as well… [Week 2] Fri 20.50 cr, Sat 31.07 cr, Sun 38.90 cr, Mon 13.50 cr, Tue 12.10 cr, Wed 10 cr, Thu 8.40 cr. Total: 419.10 cr. #India biz,” he wrote.
The movie collected Rs 284 crore in the first week and Rs 134 crore in the second.
About ‘Gadar 2’
‘Gadar 2’ is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster ‘Gadar’ which also starred Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma. The sequel also has the main cast reprising their roles. This time around the story is set around the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war. Tara Singh, a Sikh truck driver travels to Pakistan to rescue his son Chiranjeet aka Jeetey who is incarcerated by the Pakistani Army.
