Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations on Anant Chaturdashi, the Mumbai Traffic Police have issued a set of guidelines aimed at ensuring a smooth and safe procession. In a bid to maintain order and safety, the Mumbai traffic authorities have placed certain restrictions on the use of 13 «old and dangerous» road over-bridges (ROBs) and announced road closures.
On this auspicious day, devotees are urged to refrain from dancing and using loudspeakers while taking Ganpati idols for immersion at designated ROBs.

Arthur Road
Chinchpokli
Byculla
Marines Lines
Sandhurst Road
French ROB
Kennedy ROB
Falkland ROB (between Grant Road and Charni Road)
Belasis at Mumbai Central
Mahalaxmi
Prabhadevi
and Dadar Tilak ROB.
The guidelines stipulate that no more than 100 people should cross these ROBs at any given time, and processions are prohibited from halting on them. Additionally, the use of loudspeakers and dancing is strictly forbidden to maintain order and safety during the immersion process.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Pravin Padwal said, «From 10 am on Thursday to 6 am on Friday, 93 roads will be kept shut, 23 roads will be made one-way, goods vehicles will be banned on 34 roads, and parking restrictions will be imposed at 107 places.»
The traffic police have restricted all vehicular movement near renowned pandals in the Lalbagh and Kalachowki areas to avoid congestion and smooth traffic flow.
