Gary Lineker had previously made headlines for getting into a war of words with England's star footballer Harry Kane after England's outcome at the Euros, as they lost out on the trophy for the second consecutive time, even after reaching the finals under Gareth Southgate's leadership. A Daily Star UK's report suggests that Lineker makes approximately within £1,350,000 — £1,354,999, which makes it a huge amount for any show host.
Huw Edwards emerges as shocking name on BBC's top earners list
If Lineker's financial figures were not enough, there is yet another name that has emerged as a shocker, which is former news presenter Huw Edwards, who has been revealed as one of the biggest earners, even after being in a wave of controversy, following an explicit photo scandal, says Daily Star. Huw was sacked taken off-air in July, 2023 but not before he could amass another £40,000 pay hike, before resigning, making him such a big-shot earner in the hosting arena. Documents released recently show that Huw's pay range rose significantly over the period of 2022-23, and continued until he received the bonus of £40,000, claim reports.
