STATE OF THE MARKETS
GIFT Nifty (Earlier SGX Nifty) signals a negative start
GIFT Nifty on the NSE IX traded lower by 171.50 points, or 0.73 per cent, at 23,334.50, signaling that Dalal Street was headed for negative start on Monday.
- Tech View: A decisive slide below the said support could open the next downside of around 23,260 and lower in the short term. Immediate resistance is at 23,700, said Nagaraj Shetti.
- India VIX: India VIX, which is a measure of the fear in the markets, rose 1.76% to settle at 14.92 levels.
US stocks tumble
U.S. stocks tumbled, with the S&P 500 erasing its 2025 gains, after an upbeat jobs report stoked fresh inflation fears and reinforced bets that the Federal Reserve will be cautious in cutting interest rates this year.
