Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and others to allow the aircraft lessors of cash-strapped Go First to access, inspect and carry out maintenance of its leased aircraft at least twice a month, saying the «valuable» and «sophisticated» aircraft need regular maintenance. Justice Tara Vitasta Ganju, in an interim order, asked the DGCA and the airports, where the aircraft are parked, to allow access in three days.
The HC restrained Go First and its employees, directors, representatives, the resolution professional appointed by NCLT and others from removing, replacing or taking out any part or component or any other relevant records of the leased aircraft without lessors' approval. The high court fixed August 3 as the next date of hearing when it will hear the lessors' plea for deregistration of their aircraft.
The court issued the directions while hearing a batch of pleas by around eight lessors of Go First seeking a direction to the DGCA to deregister the aircraft leased to the airline and return them. The lessors had also said their aircraft need maintenance and repairs.
