Raman confronted his estranged wife, Suchana Seth, on Saturday, accusing her of murdering their four-year-old son. The confrontation, which unfolded at Calangute police station, took a hostile turn as Suchana vehemently denied the accusation, placing the blame squarely on Raman. A police officer on the scene recounted, «Raman asked Suchana why she had killed their son.
She outrightly denied doing that and blamed him for her condition.»
Both Raman and Suchana, a Bengaluru-based data scientist and startup founder, were granted permission by the police to spend approximately 15 minutes together during this emotionally charged encounter. Raman, accompanied by his counsel Azhar Meer, arrived at the police station seeking justice for his son.
Over the course of two hours, the police recorded Raman's five-page statement, revealing a turbulent history. Raman shared that Suchana had always perceived him as a violent person who, in her belief, would eventually take their son away.
Consequently, she left their home with the child and initiated divorce proceedings in the Bengaluru family court in 2023.
Meer, speaking on behalf of Raman, expressed the grim reality of the situation, stating, «My client has no claim to justice now. There is no justice for his son now, and there is no justice for Venkat now. Justice is for those children whose life is stuck between parents, and those children should get justice.» He emphasized the tragic impact of custody battles, asserting, «After this case, people will realize that fighting for a child is not worth it.
