World Bank has praised the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government for the its development efforts in the last six years. As per a ToI report, the 20-member World Bank team, led by its Executive Director Parameswara Iyer, recently held discussion with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday, lauding the significant strides achieved by the state government in developmental initiatives over the past six years.
The team, after visting Maharashtra and Gujarat earlier, stated that significant work has been done in various sectors including infrastructure development, industrialization, garbage disposal, poverty alleviation, planned urbanisation, and environmental protection. The delegation was particularly impressed by the state government's systematic approach to executing sector-specific action plans for progress.
In the meeting with the Chief Minister, collaborative prospects between the state government and the World Bank were explored, alongside the formulation of a comprehensive action plan for forthcoming development endeavors. «A lot of good work has been done in the country in the last nine years and in UP in the last six years.
Poverty alleviation has been the mission of the World Bank but now special emphasis is being laid on environment protection as well. UP can play an important role in this direction,» World Bank ED Parameswaran Iyer said.
