Tech giant Google has issued a warning to all advertisers to refrain from posting any content which has vulgarity developed using deep fake technology. Deep fake technology involves using Artificial Intelligence to morph images or videos of individuals and also voice over. It is mostly used to outrage the modesty of individuals, influence electoral outcomes and positively used in the entertainment industry, as per a report on New York Post.
In this particular case, Google has come out with a new policy wherein advertising content which promotes vulgarity using deepfake technology or even those that advertise methods to create vulgar ads using deep fake technology will be taken down by the tech giant.
Advertisers have been asked not to associate with the dark side of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Last year, google has pulled down 2 billion advertisements for violating their policy against vulgar advertisements.
From May 30, 2024, the company has announced that they will be actively pulling down advertisements which are vulgar. This is the time frame given to companies and other advertisers.
In recent times, schools have warned parents against the rampant issue of deep fake technology and many actors too have fallen victim to this. Some of the prominent names include Taylor Swift, Jenna Ortega and Congress Woman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez.
