Gotham Awards, the metaphysical drama «All of Us Strangers» received four nominations, including one for the best international feature category.
Following closely were «Past Lives,» and «A Thousand and One».
These two films earned three nominations each and are also in the running for the best feature award. They will compete for the top prize against «Showing Up,» «Passages,» and «Reality».
Apart from «All of Us Strangers,» other films contending for the best international feature include the legal thriller «Anatomy of a Fall,» the darkly comic fantasy «Poor Things,» the family drama «Tótem,» and «The Zone of Interest,» which explores the life of Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Höss.
The Gotham Awards, hosted by the Gotham Film & Media Institute, introduced a significant change this year by eliminating the $35 million budget cap for eligible films.
Another recent alteration was the removal of gender-based distinctions in the acting categories. This year, actors such as Lily Gladstone, known for her work in «The Unknown Country,» will compete alongside actors like Franz Rogowski («Passages») and Jeffrey Wright («American Fiction»), as well as actresses like Michelle Williams («Showing Up»).
The Gotham Awards also honor television programs, categorizing them based on episode length.
Notable nominees in this category include «Anne Rice's Interview With the Vampire,» «Dead Ringers,» «I'm A Virgo,» «Swarm,» and «The Last of Us.»
Each award category is decided by different juries comprising critics, journalists, and industry professionals who review screening links provided to them.
