Zakir Hussain, a revered figure in Indian classical music, was a four-time Grammy winner and one of the most celebrated tabla maestros in the world. He made history in 2024 by becoming the first Indian musician to win three Grammy Awards in a single ceremony. Tragically, the 73-year-old musician passed away on December 15, 2024, due to complications from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. His death marked the loss of a giant in the global music community.
Despite his monumental contributions, the Grammy Awards failed to include Hussain in the memorial tribute, which left fans on social media expressing their outrage. Numerous users took to the platform X (formerly Twitter), questioning the decision by the Recording Academy.
