Greater Noida and Greater Noida West may get connected to the RRTS high-speed rail network in the Delhi-Meerut route if proposals of NCRTC (National Capital Region Transport Corporation) gets through.
The NCRTC has reportedly proposed three potential routest for RRTS or Regional Rapid Transit System to connect the Greater Noida and Greater Noida West regions.
A decision on the proposals is expected in a week, as per a report of the Indian Express.
As per the report NCRTC CEO NG Ravi Kumar has constituted a team to finalise a route within a week from the three routes which were proposed following a comprehensive survey.
The first route has been proposed from Char Murti Chowk to Noida Airport via the authority office and Pari Chowk. The second route is via Greater Noida West while the third is from Char Murti Chowk to Noida Airport via Knowledge Park-5, Surajpur and Kasna, the report claimed quoting officials.
The RRTS connecting Delhi and Meerut is expected to commence operations by the end of this year. The RRTS will cover the stretch from Jangpura in Delhi to Meerut South, with stops at Sari Kale Khan, New Ashok Nagar, Anand Vihar, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Murad Nagar, Modi Nagar South, and Modi Nagar North. The 17km section from Sahibabad to Duhai Depot has been operational since October last year, and the remaining stretch from Duhai Depot to Meerut South is expected to open in the coming months.
