Khalistani extremist on Indian Parliament.
MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said here on Thursday that India has raised with both the US and Canada the issue of threats by a Khalistani extremist on Indian Parliament.
Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has released a video in which he said he would attack the Indian Parliament on or before December 13. Notably, December 13 will mark the 22nd anniversary of the Parliament attack by terrorists in 2001.
Security agencies here are on high alert after Pannun's threat video surfaced.
When asked if India has demanded the US to prosecute Pannun, the MEA spokesperson said that New Delhi seeks assistance through proper procedure and has flagged its concerns. «He (Pannun) is wanted by our agencies for violation of the law and there is a process under which we seek assistance and that they are prosecuted.
It depends on whether the crime is committed. In our case, I think requests have gone through detailing the kind of crimes that he is responsible for in India,» Bagchi said.
MEA spokesperson said that the FBI director Christopher Wray's upcoming visit to India was part of the ongoing probe.
