Here’s how Elon Musk pledges $2 trillion tax savings if Trump is elected as US President
Elon Musk made bold claims regarding potential federal budget cuts under a Trump-led administration.
Addressing a crowd of supporters, Musk asserted that he could reduce the federal budget by at least $2 trillion if Donald Trump wins the 2024 presidential election. He criticized current government spending and positioned himself as an advocate for fiscal efficiency.
“Your money is being wasted,” Musk declared, adding that he would work to “get the government off your back and out of your pocketbook, as quoted in a report by The Crypto Times.
Proposal for a 'Department of Government Efficiency'
The former President has proposed that Musk, who is one of Trump’s top financial backers, lead a new initiative called the “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE).
The initiative aims to slash government spending and streamline operations. The name of the proposed department is a nod to Dogecoin, the cryptocurrency Musk has notably supported in the past. The playful reference reflects Musk's approach to economic reforms and his confidence in restructuring federal spending.
