Hollywood actress dies in Mexican spiritual retreat after consuming deadly monkey frog substance; who is she and what is the cleansing potion?
Marcela Alcazar Rodriguez who is a 33 year old actress tragically suffered a painful death after participating in a Kambo cleansing ritual at a spiritual retreat in Durango located in Mexico, reported Daily Star.
According to Daily Star, the ritual actually involves ingesting venom from the Amazonian giant monkey frog which is pretty famously known for its hallucinogenic properties and its ability to induce severe vomiting and diarrhea as part of a detoxification process. Recent reports indicate towards the fact that after consuming the potion, Marcela Alcazar Rodriguez experienced some violent spasms and was immediately rushed to a Red Cross hospital where she eventually succumbed just few hours later.

The Durango State Attorney General's Office is currently investigating her death while specifically focusing on the retreat leader who reportedly fled the scene following the incident, asserted Daily Star. An autopsy is being underway to actually determine the exact cause of death while it might involve organ failure triggered by the venom.
Marcela Alcazar Rodriguez was recognized for her work in both US and Mexican cinema which includes her role in the famous indie film ‘New Low’, noted Daily Star.
