Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Thursday inaugurated a new engine assmebly line with capacity of manufacturing 60 engines daily at its Global Resource Factory situated in Manesar, Haryana with focus on CKD (Completely Knocked Down) exports.
«The new assembly line is equipped to produce engines for models ranging from 1100cc to 300cc, catering to diverse needs and preferences of customers across the globe,» said the company through a press release.
«We are happy to introduce a new engine assembly line for CKD exports at our Global Resource Factory in Manesar. It is a testament to our relentless pursuit of driving technological advancements in the industry. With this step, HMSI aims to boost its export capabilities, reaching new heights in market expansion and adherence to global quality standards,» said Tsutsumu Otani, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Managing Director, President and CEO.
Currently, HMSI exports to 58 markets spanning Europe, Central & Latin America, Middle East, South-East Asia, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and SAARC nations.
For the month of March, the company reported an 81 per cent year-on-year jump in domestic wholesales at 3,58,151 units. The company had dispatched 1,97,542 units to its dealers in March 2023. Exports increased 95 per cent to 28,304 units last month from 14,460 units in March 2023.
The total sales rose to 3,86,455 units last month against 2,12,002 units in the same month last year, it added.
