NEW DELHI : The popularity of Indian gherkins – pickled baby cucumbers – is growing across Europe, the US, South Korea and Brazil. In Europe, imports have surged in Germany, Spain, the UK, Netherlands, France, Italy and Greece. Exports surged 10% to $218.76 million in 2022-23 from $199.38 million in 2021-22.
In the 11 months to January in FY24, India had exported gherkins to the tune of $189.08 million.
