In an interview with Screenrant, Rhys Ifans said that “there's something brewing,” and that he expects the third season of the Game of Thrones prequel to start filming this year. While he couldn't provide an exact start date, Ifans hinted that the production is imminent, adding that fans can expect the show to be released in the future, albeit with a bit of a playful exaggeration regarding the timeline.
While fans eagerly await any official announcements regarding the series, the showrunners have remained tight-lipped on the matter. Showrunner and co-creator Ryan Condal mentioned last year that production on season 3 is expected to begin in early 2025. However, according to Variety, Condal declined to confirm whether the upcoming season would consist of eight episodes, like the previous one, noting that he had yet to discuss the matter with HBO.
