As 2024 draws to a close, ET reached out to some of India Inc.’s top corporate honchos to hear their thoughts on how they interact with AI tools in their personal and professional lives. Edited Excerpts:
NR Narayana Murthy, Founder of Infosys
I learnt how to use ChatGPT from my son and one day my granddaughter called me with a problem that her school in London had given her for homework. She asked for help, so I used ChatGPT to find the solution since it was advanced. But I didn’t give her the answer right away. Instead, I told her I knew how to solve it and gave her a few days to figure it out herself. She eventually solved it, and then I showed her how to use ChatGPT to find answers on her own.
Preetha Reddy, Vice Chairperson, Apollo Hospitals
I wrote a poem for somebody very, very, close to me the other day. You just give all the personality traits of the person to ChatGPT and a beautiful poem comes out. Also, I use it for scientific papers… I'm sure there are clinical pathways, if you want to know about a certain disease, I mean, there's only so much we know, right? But if you type all that in, it ties in exactly with what the doctors are saying.
