One of the culprits dismounted the horse in an effort to grab the donation box. Despite their determination, the fixed 'daan patra' proved difficult to dislodge.
The commotion attracted the attention of local residents, roused by the incessant barking.
As the situation unfolded, the thieves hastily retreated, mounting their horse once more. The entire incident, captured on video, went viral on social media, shedding light on this peculiar crime.
The temple's caretaker, Nikhil Soni, promptly reported the incident to the police on December 21.
