Now you can buy metro tickets from the comfort of your home as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has launched a mobile app --'DMRC TRAVEL' — for generating paperless online mobile QR tickets for travelling across its network in Delhi and NCR. The travellers of Delhi Metro can now purchase Delhi metro tickets directly from their smartphones.
According to official sources, passengers can download the app, register in it, buy the ticket and scan it at the gate directly from their phones. If the commuter’s phone is lost or dies within the duration of the ride, they will have to repurchase the ticket from the customer care kiosk.Here is the complete step by step guideline to buy Delhi Metro QR paperless ticket online:Download the 'DMRC Tavel & Map Navigation App' from Google Play store. The app is currently available only on play store.
As per DMRC the app will be available on Apple store soon. After downloading it, open the app. First you have to create an account on the App by filling out the details like Name, Email id, mobile number and password.
An OTP will be send on the registered mail id. Enter the OTP. After creating your account, the home page of the app will appear.
On the homepage you will find options like Book tickets, Plan Journey, Smart Card recharge and View Transaction To buy the QR ticket, select the Book Ticket option On the next page enter the origin and destination station and click book ticket button. The fare will appear on the next page. Complete the payment.
