Hyderabad police have issued specific guidelines for New Year’s Eve celebrations, requiring event organizers to secure permissions in advance. The instructions, outlined in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Rachakonda Commissionerate, aim to ensure safety and compliance during the events.
Mandatory permissions and safety measures
According to the statement, all events, whether ticketed or non-ticketed and held indoors or outdoors, must obtain police permission at least 12 days in advance. The statement emphasized, “All the events must and should obtain permission from the police regardless of whether the event is held indoors or outdoors.”
Organizers are required to equip event venues with portable fire extinguishers, fireballs, water drums, and other safety measures. Additionally, exits and escape routes must be clearly marked with large signboards.
Guidelines for security and behavior
The police have directed organizers to deploy identifiable women security guards, properly trained to assist women and children. Security personnel must maintain polite behavior toward attendees. Serving liquor to minors, as prohibited by the Excise Act, will result in specific cases being registered against the organizers and suppliers.
