Space Manufacturing and Tech, Satellite and Navigation Systems, Propulsion, and Mission Design. Space startups have also said that they are willing to pay a premium for individuals with the right skill set.
TalentSprint's founder, CEO and MD Santanu Paul told ET that the company has consistently anticipated market trends, as seen with AI and fintech when those industries were in their early stages, by launching various executive courses.
«This is an attempt to create the talent pool and ‘expertise building’ for the space economy in India,» he said. «If India aims to become a 100 billion USD space economy by 2040, I believe that a 100 billion USD industry will naturally support at least a billion dollars' worth of education.»
The company aims to produce about 1,000–2,000 world-class professionals in the space tech domain over the next three to five years. These premium courses have already completed two cohorts with 215 individuals and are in the process of launching the next one. Speaking about the nature of the course, Paul highlighted that over 56% of the participants have more than 10 years of experience, which shows the demand for these specialized skills across age groups.
Bellatrix Aerospace, one of India’s earliest space startups established in 2015 that also bagged an order from ISRO, said a meaningful programme can help address the talent gap.
