These readings were 2-4°C above normal in many parts of Gangetic West Bengal and isolated pockets of Bihar, Jharkhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Telangana, Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Uttarakhand, Vidarbha, and Madhya Pradesh.
East Uttar Pradesh is expected to witness a further increase in maximum temperatures by 2-3°C over the next 24 hours, with no significant change thereafter. Conversely, West India is likely to experience no significant changes in maximum temperatures over the next two days, followed by a subsequent rise by 2-3°C.
A heat wave warning have been issued for the next five days for many parts of Gangetic West Bengal on 20th & 21st, parts of Odisha on 20th, and isolated pockets in Jharkhand and Bihar from 20th to 24th. Additionally, heat wave conditions are expected in East Uttar Pradesh and interior Tamil Nadu on 20th April, 2024. Severe Heat Wave conditions are also likely in isolated pockets of Odisha on 20th and Gangetic West Bengal on 20th & 21st April, 2024. Hot and humid weather is forecast over coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, and Kerala & Mahe during 20th-24th April, 2024.
