Venugopal Lambu, the CEO designate of LTIMindtree has laid out a 90-day plan, which includes a strategy to deepen client relationships and sharpen the organisation to be fitter to secure large deals. It will also include capitalising on the current generative artificial intelligence (genAI) wave and pivoting the organisation into an AI first company. Lambu is taking over from Debasis Chatterjee as CEO of the sixth largest software services firm in November 2025 after the latter retires.

He is also preparing a five-year strategy and a 2030 vision for the organisation, Lambu said in his first media interview with ET, less than a month after being appointed. «As part of what we call our “Lakshya” plan, the detailed five-year plan is something we will kick-off at the end of March and then communicate to the wider stakeholders.»
Resonating industry views amidst the changing global politics, world economy and demand environment, Lambu said he is cautiously optimistic in certain sectors such as banking & financial services (BFS) and retail and consumer with decent traction and hi-tech seeing “greenshoots getting greener”. He cautioned that however he will refrain from saying whether we are completely out of the woods yet.
