Index of industrial production drops to 3.7% in June from 5.2% in May

The index of industrial production (IIP) in India declined to 3.7 per cent in June 2023 from the three-month high level of 5.2 per cent measured in May 2023, according to data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation on August 11. In April, the IIP came in at 4.2 per cent, according to government data.
India's IIP declined to its lowest level in five months at 1.1 per cent in March. However, the figure has been revised to 1.7 per cent.
The previous lowest growth rate was observed in October 2022 when it contracted by 4.1 per cent. (Report to be updated soon)
