Trump's unexpected mediation offer came after his bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House early Friday.
During a joint press meet with Modi following the Summit, Trump noted that the skirmishes were quite violent — and that he would like to mediate.

The US President has also hinted at a deal with China to maximise economic relationship.
