Elon Musk’s Tesla is offering discounts of up to $6,000 on available Cybertrucks in the United States. The company is offering discounts of up to $6,000 on Foundation Series Cybertrucks and $5,100 on non-Foundation Series Cybertrucks in its inventory. The offers apply to new 2024 model-year vehicles.
In January 2025, the company had only offered discounts of up to $2,000 on non-Foundation Series Cybertrucks.
The Cybertruck is one of Tesla’s high-end models. The starting price for the basic all-wheel-drive version is $79,990, while the more premium Cyberbeast costs $99,990.
In 2024, it became Tesla’s third best-selling vehicle in the US, behind the Model 3 and Model Y, according to Kelley Blue Book.
Tesla sold 38,965 Cybertrucks in 2024, far surpassing sales of the Model S and Model X in the U.S.
For the first few months, only the Foundation Series Cybertrucks were available.
In October, Tesla launched the regular version, priced around $20,000 less than the Foundation Series. The Foundation Series is a limited, more expensive edition, featuring special badges and premium accessories.
On Wednesday, the US State Department removed any mention of Elon Musk’s Tesla from its procurement forecast regarding a planned $400 million armoured EV purchase, following media reports.
The original December 2024 document had included a budget item for an «Armoured Tesla» project, set to begin in 2025 and span five years, but this has now been revised to exclude Tesla’s name. This change followed reports from Drop Site News and The New York Times highlighting Tesla’s inclusion in the procurement plan.
