automation software provider UiPath and the company is expanding the local team to meet business demand, said Rob Enslin, the US-based company’s co-CEO. In an exclusive interview with ET, Enslin said the company has seen demand for automation solutions remain consistent despite the larger uncertainty which has gripped technology investments. “Our workforce in India is quite large, with a significant amount of engineering taking place in the Bengaluru centre,” said Enslin.
UiPath has three major centres of engineering in Seattle, Romania and Bengaluru. “And that's why we continue to expand our business here when it comes to engineering, with a significant part of our cloud engineering being addressed from Hyderabad,” he said. Enslin will transition to the role of CEO in January 2024.
An enterprise tech veteran, Enslin started his career under Hasso Plattner at SAP, before joining Google Cloud, defining its international growth strategy. According to Enslin, 13% of UiPath’s total employee base is in India and 22% of the company’s revenue comes from the Asia Pacific region. For the fiscal year ending in January, the company reported a revenue of $1.05 billion, up 19% year-on-year.
“India is a tier-1 market for us, which is a significant focus area for us,” said Enslin. He said the company will be repurposing a lot of its talent base this year towards more generative artificial intelligence (AI)-based solutions. Enslin said that beyond the traditional sectors like banking, healthcare and insurance, the company has expanded its portfolio of solutions across other sectors like manufacturing through a host of new products.
