The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rainfall alert for several states including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Konkan area, Goa and parts of Maharashtra. It also predicted scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
The Met Office has predicted general cloudy skies with light rain or thundershowers. The maximum and minimum temperature is likely to be around 33 and 25 degree Celsius respectively. On Saturday, the rain lashed parts of the national capital, bringing the minimum temperature to 26.9 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season’s average. The Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 87 around 5 pm.
Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh is expected to witness thunderstorms with rain. The minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to be around 16 and 25 degrees Celsius respectively. The weather department has also predicted light to moderate rainfall at a few places over low hills and middle hills. The higher hills area will experience light rainfall or snowfall. On Saturday, the lowest and highest temperature was recorded at Keylong and Bhuntar at 11.9 and 34.8 degrees Celsius respectively.
The Gujarat Regional Met Office has predicted of Light to moderate rain or thundershowers very likely at most places in all the districts of Gujarat region and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli and at a few places in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch and in Diu. On Saturday, heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in Surat district of South Gujarat region.
The IMD also issued high flash flood warnings over few watersheds and neighbourhoods of West Madhya Pradesh Met Subdivisions during the next 24 hours. In a statement, IMD said, “Moderate to High flash
