The dense fog conditions and chilly weather continued to disrupt travel plans for trains to and from the national capital on Wednesday (January 24) morning, causing significant inconvenience for passengers. The arrival of several passenger trains in Delhi encountered delays for more than 8 hours.
“Our train is very late. I had booked Bhopal Express for 8.30 pm. It was then rescheduled for 3 am. When we reached the station at 3 am, we came to know that the train is not running today. We are continuously waiting,” Narendra, a passenger at New Delhi Railway Station mentioned.

Foggy conditions has resulted in low visibility, owing to this several Delhi-bound trains running behind schedule, exacerbating the challenges posed by the prevailing weather conditions across various parts of the country. Travelers faced prolonged waiting times and disruptions as transportation services grappled with the adverse effects of the dense fog.
Parts of Delhi and its neighboring areas in the National Capital Region (NCR) received light rainfall in the early hours this morning amid thick layer of fog.
Meanwhile, dense to very dense fog engulfed several parts of North India as cold wave conditions in the late night and early morning hours showed no signs of slowing. Northern parts of the country have been grappling with dense fog conditions, which has disrupted the usual rhythm of its transportation system.
