Indian Railways is all set to introduce a second Vande Bharat Express train on Ahmedabad-Mumbai route. The new semi high-speed train will commence its operations from Tuesday (March 12) onwards and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to flag it off.
The latest Vande Bharat Express train will run six days a week, except on Sundays, as per the reports. The new blue and white color train will be equipped with AC chair cars and executive chair cars, and will make stops at Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, and Borivali stations in both directions.
According to the reports, the inauguration ceremony of the train will be held in Ahmedabad. The train’s schedule has been finalised, with departure from Ahmedabad at 6:10 am and arrival at Mumbai Central at 11:35 pm. For the return journey, the train will leave Mumbai Central at 3:55 pm and reach Ahmedabad at 9:25 pm.
PM Modi had inaugurated the first Vande Express linking Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad, and Gandhinagar on September 30, 2022.
The train saw a robust average daily ridership, reaching 142% between Mumbai Central and Gandhinagar, with 1,596 passengers. Similarly, on the return journey, the ridership stood at 146%, accommodating an average of 1,646 passengers per day.
The prime minister is slated to inaugurate various railway projects in Ahemdabad and open multiple train services across India tomorrow.
PM Modi is set to flag off ten new Vande Bharat trains on Tuesday, namely – Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central, Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam, Mysuru- Dr. MGR Central (Chennai), Patna- Lucknow, New Jalpaiguri-Patna, Puri-Visakhapatnam, Lucknow – Dehradun, Kalaburagi – Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru, Ranchi-Varanasi, Khajuraho- Delhi (Nizamuddin).
