Narendra Modi announced that Indian students who are pursuing their Masters in France will now be given a five-year post study work visa. Earlier, Indian students were given two-year work visa.
Addressing the Indian community at La Seine Musicale in Paris, PM Narendra Modi said, «Earlier France used to give two-year post study visa to Indian students, now Indian students will be given a five-year post study work visa.» According to the latest data from the Indian foreign ministry, there has been a steady growth in Indian students going to France for studies over the last three years. In 2022, over 6,000 study-abroad aspirants chose France.
France is among the top five study destinations for international students after the US, the UK, Germany, and Australia. Affordable tuition fees, scholarship opportunities, and quality education draw several international students to France yearly (over 4 million in the 2021-22 session).
