Snapchat was the first platform to invent the concept of Stories and this has been taken on by almost all the other platforms which include Instagram.
As the content that is shared through Stories vanishes within a day, the users have that urge to save those stories for referring in the future. At present Instagram has no feature that notifies users if someone takes a screenshot of their stories and others will also not know when they take a screenshot of their stories. However, some Instagram features have a different set of rules. For instance, if someone tries to take a screenshot of something that is sent through Vanish Mode, Instagram will notify the other user. Thus it is in the best interests to be careful while taking a screenshot on the Instagram app.
