Glenn Maxwell will return to Punjab Kings for Rs 4.2 crore on Sunday in the IPL 2025 auction. There was a late opening bid for the Australian all-rounder by Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rs 2 crore. PBKS battled them till Rs 2.60 crore.
Chennai Super Kings entered the bidding at Rs 2.80 crore before stepping aside. This will be the 36-year-old's second stint with PBKS after having played for the team from 2014-2021.
Maxwell has set a bidding war in the previous seasons where he has gone for over Rs 10 crore, but this was not the case this time.
Despite a lackluster 2024 season with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) — scoring just 52 runs in 10 games — Maxwell’s all-round abilities make him an intriguing prospect for franchises.
