Rajeev Shukla on Sunday said that the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on March 23. He made the announcement after the BCCI Special General Meeting in Mumbai on Sunday.
Further, the BCCI has announced the appointment of a new commissioner for IPL for a one-year term. The next meeting is scheduled for January 18-19 and will finalise the squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy.
With the IPL set to begin on March 23, the newly appointed BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia emphasised the busy schedule ahead, saying back-to-back events will demand significant attention and coordination.
The meeting also saw Devajit Saikia and Prabhtej Singh Bhatia get elected as the new BCCI secretary and treasurer respectively. They were both elected unopposed after being the only ones to file nomination for the posts vacated by Jay Shah and Ashish Shelar.
