DEI requirements at NASA
Under the Biden-Harris administration, NASA has integrated DEI criteria into its funding process for research in STEMM fields. This includes requiring «diversity statements» and adherence to equity principles. Critics claim these requirements create a «politicized litmus test» that compromises the quality of scientific research.
Princeton professor Robert George criticized the administration's approach, labeling it as «corrupt» and harmful to scientific advancement. He warned that prioritizing DEI over scientific merit could weaken America's ability to defend itself against global threats.

Impact on research funding
NASA's Amanda L. Nahm explained that research proposals lacking an inclusion plan would be deemed non-compliant and not considered.
