Death of adoptive mother Elaine
Elaine, DePrince's adopted mother, passed away a day after her. On September 11, Elaine DePrince went suddenly during a routine medical procedure. A family spokesman, Jess Volinski, revealed that the family has been particularly struggling lately since they dealt with two deaths at the same time. For the bereaved family, the spokeswoman called the circumstances «tragic and devastating.»

DePrince's journey from orphan to star
