Blake Lively’s new film, “It Ends With Us,” has been banned in Qatar due to scenes involving kissing. The decision highlights the country's strict censorship laws that often affect Hollywood films.
Qatar’s censorship committee has decided not to allow the release of “It Ends With Us,” a PG-13 film produced by Sony Pictures and Wayfarer Studios. The decision is linked to the inclusion of kissing scenes and a non-graphic scene where characters remain partially clothed, as per media reports.

Qatar is known for its rigorous censorship policies, which have led to the banning of various American movies. The country previously blocked films, such as Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” the animated superhero film “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” and Marvel’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” and “Eternals.” These films were all rated PG-13 in the United States.
Other notable films banned in Qatar include the R-rated comedy “No Hard Feelings,” where Jennifer Lawrence appears naked, and the “Toy Story” spinoff “Lightyear,” which features a kiss. Pixar’s “Onward” was also banned due to a vague reference to a character. Additionally, Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell’s “Anyone but You” faced a ban for containing steamy romance scenes.
