Ram Madhav said that the party has fielded 19 candidates in Kashmir and is confident of opening its account in the Valley in this assembly elections.
«Today things have changed. People want to hear what BJP says. We are confident that BJP will open an account here (Kashmir). This is historic elections and BJP will also script new history,» said Madhav, who is also the party's election in-charge, on the sidelines of a campaign programme in Shopian district.
Madhav, who was instrumental in stitching the BJP-PDP alliance in 2015 and 2016, said BJP aims to break the myth that people in Kashmir don't support his party. He said that his party is no longer an outsider in J&K as they had formed the government here earlier as well.
«In 2014, some people thought BJP was an outsider and alien party, but we formed the government. We are not outsiders anymore. We now have to break the myth that the Valley won't support BJP,» said Madhav, adding, «60 lakh people of the Valley have forgotten Article 370. They believe that life after its abrogation is better.»
The BJP leader said that some «radical parties» have joined hands in J&K and are repeating the narrative of "self-determination".
