Jaya Bachchan, the wife of Bollywood’s ‘Living Legend’ Amitabh Bachchan aka Big B, has gone viral, as news of the superstar’s hospitalisation started doing the rounds on the Internet.
The ‘Guddie’ actress recently appeared in an episode of ‘What The Hell Navya’, a podcast hosted by her granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda. In a rare candid moment, the yesteryear diva admitted that she and Big B had hit a rough patch in the early ‘90s. She emphasised the importance of supporting your loved ones when they face setbacks.
“We went through different kinds of failures in different phases of my life. When a man is going through a tough phase, it’s nice to just be there and be quiet for them. It’s nice to be silently standing there and saying listen I am here for you,” said the ‘Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham’ actress. Her daughter, Shweta had different ideas. “No, Mumma! I don’t agree. Sometimes all a man needs is some idea which then they can work on. I would like to play a more proactive role and look for a solution because I’m a problem solver..” she said.
The ‘90s were a turbulent time indeed for the Bachchans. Their company — AB Corporation faced tremendous losses, plunging the family into bankruptcy. In an interview with Vir Sanghvi, the Big B admitted that he was at his wit’s end as he had Rs 90 crore debt to pay. “There were creditors on the door every day, very embarrassing, very humiliating,” he told Sanghvi.
Big B’s career got a new lease of life when he was roped in to host the reality TV show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’
