A new restaurant culture is spicing up dining scene in Indian metros
restaurant. «And even that could be avoided by showing up early in the morning.» But those days are a distant memory. Across major metros like Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi, a new wave of experiential dining has emerged, creating a storm of exclusivity and FOMO or the fear of missing out. With limited seating, these restaurants have naturally cultivated a «book early or miss out» culture that appeals to diners craving unique culinary escapades. For many, the challenge of securing a reservation only heightens the allure.

BITS alumnus justifies Cognizant's Rs 2.5 LPA salary to freshers: 'Quality is so bad'
Amidst the heated debate, Vatsal Sanghvi, founder of 1811 Labs, a Bengaluru-based startup focusing on GenAI SaaS products, stepped forward to defend Cognizant's position. He stated that the salary should be considered a «training stipend» rather than a full-fledged salary, citing concerns over the quality of fresh graduates entering the workforce. “The quality of freshers is often so bad that even Rs 20k per month is overspending. Most don’t know how to communicate professionally, can’t code properly, and don’t know how to behave in a professional environment,” Sanghvi shared on X (formerly Twitter). He emphasized that the market is open, and those who believe the compensation is inadequate are free to seek opportunities elsewhere. “It is an open market—don’t apply if you don’t think it’s fair. Unlike other gigs, there’s plenty of opportunity to grow if these individuals focus on building skill,” he added.

Lok Sabha exit poll results: With hours left, is Prashant Kishor still sticking with his BJP 300-plus seats forecast?
Prashant Kishor is sticking to his poll forecast with about 24 hours left for the exit polls. The weeks long voting process for the Lok Sabha elections gets over tomorrow. The final phase of the seven phase Lok Sabha election will be finished tomorrow with polling in 57 parliamentary seats across seven states and the Union territory of Chandigarh. After the final phase of voting ends all eyes will be on exit polls. The news channels are allowed to air exit polls from 6:30 pm tomorrow. Speaking with Vir Sanghvi at The Print, Prashant Kishor said that he expects Modi-led BJP to get same number of seats it bagged in 2019 elections or may perform even better. «To my mind, BJP is going to come back with similar or slightly better majority. In my assessment, in west and northern India, I don't see BJP taking a material hit in terms of seat,» he said. BJP had bagged 303 seats in 2019 Lok Sabha polls, with bulk of seats from northern and western India. Prashant Kishor said the he does not foresee BJP losing that many seats from north and west India and the BJP has got «adequate cover from east and southern India.'

Rajkot Gaming Zone Fire: 27 dead, one missing, investigation underway; Here's all you need to know
TRP Game Zone on Nana Mauva Road in Rajkot on Saturday, claiming the lives of at least 27 individuals, including nine young children. The victims were tragically burned to death in the inferno. According to DCP Parthrajsinh Gohil, the death toll has reached 27, while search and rescue efforts continue at the scene. The fire, which started around 6 pm, caused chaos as some managed to escape while others were trapped by collapsing temporary structures. Sources said at least 300 people were present in the game zone due to summer vacation and weekend. Ilesh Kher, the chief fire officer of Rajkot, said, «A temporary structure collapsed near the entrance, making it difficult for the people to rush outside the dome. This also created hurdles in firefighting.» Although a short circuit is commonly thought to have initiated the fire, officials from the fire department have indicated that the precise cause will only be determined after a thorough investigation has been conducted.

Lok Sabha polls: David vs Goliath battle in Indore as Congress pins hope on rookie against BJP stalwart
Congress has fielded Akshay Bam, a newbie in the poll arena from Indore Lok Sabha constituency, an unbreached BJP citadel for 35 years, against sitting MP Shankar Lalwani, who had won the 2019 contest by a huge margin of over 5.47 lakh votes. Bam (45), a businessman from the Jain community, has to shoulder a big responsibility of keeping the Congress cadre motivated in view of three former MLAs and several workers of the party joining the ruling BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Prominent among Congress defectors are Pankaj Sanghvi, Sanjay Shukla, and Vishal Patel. He faces sitting BJP MP Shankar Lalwani, 62, who had won the last contest against his Congress challenger Pankaj Sanghvi by possibly the highest vote margin in Madhya Pradesh.

Jaya Bachchan reveals she ‘stood silently’ by Amitabh Bachchan when he faced bankruptcy during the ‘90s
Jaya Bachchan, the wife of Bollywood’s ‘Living Legend’ Amitabh Bachchan aka Big B, has gone viral, as news of the superstar’s hospitalisation started doing the rounds on the Internet. The ‘Guddie’ actress recently appeared in an episode of ‘What The Hell Navya’, a podcast hosted by her granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda. In a rare candid moment, the yesteryear diva admitted that she and Big B had hit a rough patch in the early ‘90s. She emphasised the importance of supporting your loved ones when they face setbacks. “We went through different kinds of failures in different phases of my life. When a man is going through a tough phase, it’s nice to just be there and be quiet for them. It’s nice to be silently standing there and saying listen I am here for you,” said the ‘Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham’ actress. Her daughter, Shweta had different ideas. “No, Mumma! I don’t agree. Sometimes all a man needs is some idea which then they can work on. I would like to play a more proactive role and look for a solution because I’m a problem solver..” she said.
